Turn gibberish back into Arabic
If you forgot to switch your keyboard to Arabic, you get strings like “hgsghl” instead of السلام. Paste that text here and the tool maps each key to the Arabic letter on the same key.
It also works the other way: choose “Arabic → English” to recover English text typed while the Arabic layout was active.
Would you rather type Arabic directly? Use the Arabic keyboard. If the fixed text still has stray marks, remove the tashkeel next.

Frequently asked questions
Using the fixer
How do I fix text typed with the wrong layout?
Paste the text into the main box and choose “Fix text typed on the wrong layout (English → Arabic)” in the tool menu. The result appears below, ready to copy.
Why does “hgsghl” become السلام?
Each English key is replaced by the Arabic letter on the same key of the Arabic 101 layout. On that layout h is ا, g is ل, s is س and l is م, so the six keys h g s g h l become السلام.
Can I turn Arabic typed by mistake back into English?
Yes. Choose “Fix Arabic typed by mistake (Arabic → English)” in the tool menu to map the Arabic letters back to the English keys.
Accuracy and limits
Which layouts does it assume?
The English QWERTY layout and the Arabic 101 layout. If your keyboard is AZERTY or a Mac Arabic layout, a few letters may differ.
Does it fix spelling mistakes?
No. It only converts keys. Spelling and grammar stay as you typed them.
Why is لا converted to two keys?
On the Arabic layout, لا is also a single key, so the tool can’t tell it apart from ل followed by ا. It converts them as two letters, which is right for most words.
Why did some symbols change?
Punctuation keys sit in different places in the two layouts, so some symbols map to different characters.
Privacy and cost
Is it free?
Yes. The tool is free to use, with no signup and no account.
Is my text uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in your browser and nothing you type is uploaded. The box above also saves a draft in your browser’s local storage on your device. The Clear key or your browser’s site data removes it.
